large GOTLAND LENS PENDANT - amethyst and silver (handmade by Viking Kristall)

SINGLE UNIQUE PIECE!
Replica based on of viking necklace from 10th - 12th century, found in Visby, Gotland, Sweden. Similar jewellery have been found in eastern - rus viking regions.
It has been suggested that the lenses themselves are much older than their mounts and may have been used by craftsmen for magnification in fine work, as reading stones, or to start fires.
Size: polished amethyst lens 32mm, chain hole 4mm
Materials: made in a sterling silver with a amethyst* lens inside. All the filigree is hand made with a master precision.
All the designs from the VIKING KRISTALL are very tough, solid and chunky.
