Handmade pendant depicting the Ægishjálmur, or the “Helm of Awe”*. It is a magical stave that shows up in medieval Icelandic magic books** and Norse mythology.
Size: height 35mm, width 29mm
Materials: handmade in sterling silver.
All the designs from the VIKING KRISTALL are very tough, solid and chunky.
*It is referenced as one item Sigurd takes from the dragon Fafnir's hoard after he slays him in Völsunga saga. Poetic Edda also mentions:
"The Helm of Awe
I wore before the sons of men
In defense of my treasure;
Amongst all, I alone was strong,
I thought to myself,
For I found no power a match for my own."
